Christian, Chief District Court Judge, <br />administered the oath of office to Mr. Billy A. Bryant, Sheriff of <br />Lee County and Deputy Sheriffs' and Jailors'. <br />It appearing that Robert T. Reives, Gordon A. Wicker, Jimmie M. <br />Cox and J. Douglas Moretz were elected as Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee at the last general election, they presented <br />themselves, took the oath of office and thereby qualified as members <br />of the Board of Commissioners. <br />The Reverend Dr. Joseph L. Morgan, pastor of First Calvary <br />Baptist Church gave the benediction to close the induction ceremony <br />and a reception followed in the first floor lobby of the Courthouse. <br />The recessed meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 11:00 A.M. in the <br />Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were newly sworn <br />Commissioners Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert <br />Garner; J. Douglas Moretz; Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, <br />Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for transaction of business with <br />the new Board. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle announced the next order of business <br />was the election of a Chairman for a one-year term. Commissioner <br />Garner moved to elect the Chairman by written ballot. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />County Attorney K. R.
