After much discussion Commissioner Dossenbach asked that a <br />roll call vote be taken in the matter. Upon a roll call vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Nay: <br />Cox <br />Nay: <br />Dossenbach <br />Aye: <br />Garner <br />Aye: <br />Moretz <br />Nay: <br />Reives <br />Nay: <br />Stafford <br />Nay: <br />Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been defeated by a five to two <br />vote. <br />The Board considered a resolution honoring William C. Stafford, <br />Jr.'s father. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle read the following <br />resolution: <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />WHEREAS, William C. Stafford, Jr., a member of this Board, <br />suffered a great personal loss in the death of his father on December <br />9, 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, William C. Stafford, Sr., a resident of Wayne County, <br />was a fine upstanding citizen with a wide host of friends, a strong <br />family man, and a devoted husband and father; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to publicly <br />acknowledge its heartfelt sympathy for its friend and colleague, and <br />the other members of his family; <br />NOW, THEREFORE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County as follows: <br />1. That the Board extends its deepest sympathy to <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr., in the untimely loss of his <br />esteemed father, William C. Stafford, Sr. on December 9, 1994, and <br />asks that he convey its condolences to his mother and sister. <br />2. That this meeting be adjourned in memory of the late <br />William C. Stafford, Sr., and this resolution be made a part of the <br />official minutes of this meeting and certified copies of this <br />resolution be provided to Commissioner Stafford, his mother, and <br />sister. <br />8 <br />
