0 0
Boor 15 pt(' 907
Cowan explained to the Board the "working" meeting would consist of
hearing various reports from individuals; request and information
from the public; recommendations from the Manager, and any such items
which requires input from others. The Board would discuss and work
through these and plan what is to be done at the "action" meeting.
Public hearings would continue to be held the same as always. After
much discussion commissioner Dossenbach moved to try the new
"working" and "action" meetings with the stipulation that a member,
without the vote of the Board, can remove any item from the consent
agenda. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion. After further
discussion Commissioner Reives made a substitute motion to not take
any action at this time and wait for more information from the County
Manager and discuss at the next meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded
the substitute motion. After additional discussion Commissioner Cox
moved to table the matter. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion,
and upon a vote of the tabled motion, the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion to table was adopted unanimously.
The Board briefly discussed holding a planning "retreat" in the
near future. No action was taken on the matter.
The Board considered a request to purchase real property owned
by the County at 205 Hillcrest Drive. County Manager William Cowan
told the Board the Lee County Group Home, recently located at 205
Hillcrest Drive, has moved to their new facility. The County owns
this property and has been approached by an individual who wishes to
purchase the house and lot for a cash price of $30,000.00. After
some discussion commissioner Dossenbach moved to get the property
appraised and get a report from Public Works Director Kenny Cole as
to what the needs for the lot are concerning a new parking lot that
will soon be constructed at the rear of this lot. He also asked that
County Manager William Cowan let the Board know if the County has a
use for the property. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and
upon a vote, the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
Commissioner Moretz moved that all County appointed Airport
Authority members' terms expire December 31, 1994. He further
continued to state they would continued to serve until the Board
designates someone else to serve or until they are re-appointed or
7
