The County Attorney reported that the
outstanding indebtedness on the civic center property had been paid
off and the outstanding deed of trust and note agreement had been
cancelled of record and the deed had been drafted in keeping with the
resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on August 21, 1989,
declaring the Board's intention to convey the property to trustees of
the community college when said indebtedness had been discharged.
The County Attorney recommended that the documents be approved and
the Chairman and Clerk be authorized to execute and deliver the
documents. This was recently discovered
by a local real estate company during the handling of the sale of the
property. In order to clear the property for sale, the real estate
company has offered $50.00 and the expense of sale and will have the
property surveyed and would like to acquire a three foot strip of
land running from West Main Street back to the point where it
intersectes the property line.
