Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for the Central Office Supply room. <br />Finance Director Lisa Minter was present and answered questions of <br />the Board. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to approve <br />the low bids for office supplies from the following: <br />Tri-County Business Machines <br />Southern Pines, NC <br />Macs Business Machines <br />Sanford, NC <br />Raleigh Office Supply <br />Raleigh, NC <br />Forms & Supply, Inc. <br />Charlotte, NC <br />Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Crown Cable CATV franchise renewal <br />agreement. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board Lee County's <br />franchise with Crown Cable is due to be renewed on or before August <br />17, 1996. Since this franchise was for fifteen years, it requires <br />experts to try to cover the foreseeable changes that will occur over <br />such a period. He has discussed alliances with Sanford, Siler City, <br />and Chatham County participating with the TJCOG Cable TV Consortium; <br />and private legal counsel. There is also a new request from Carolina <br />Cable Partners to serve portions of Lee County by extending the <br />system it has in Harnett County in the area of Swann Station and <br />Broadway. It indicates that for financing purposes it needs at least <br />a ten year franchise. After much discussion Commissioner Stafford <br />moved to hire the firm of McNair and Sanford, Raleigh, North <br />Carolina, and pay them a fee of up to $3,000.00. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />4 <br />
