After much discussion commissioner Stafford moved to accept the low <br />bid from Woodall Pumping Service, Cary, NC, for $46,800.00. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Moretz <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />vote. <br />The Board considered Tax Releases and Refunds for November and <br />December, 1994. Tax Administrator Nathan Crissman was present and <br />answered questions of the Board. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to <br />approve Tax Releases and Refunds for November and December, 1994. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered deleting the In-Home Aide Program for FY <br />1995/96. Senior Services Director Pam Adams explained to the Board <br />she has been monitoring the program closely for the past two years <br />and the number of persons utilizing the service has dropped during <br />that time. She asked the Board to consider discontinuing this <br />program and creating an additional Senior Center Coordinator position <br />to assist with programming at the Enrichment Center. After much <br />discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved to discontinue the In-Home <br />Aide Program at Senior Services and create an additional Senior <br />Center Coordinator position effective July 1, 1995. Commissioner <br />Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />vote. <br />The Board considered comprehensive community based correction <br />funding for the Lee-Harnett Criminal Justice Alliance Advisory Board. <br />Youth Services Director Todd Edwards was present and told the Board <br />the plan would keep most people accused of non-violent crimes out of <br />jail while they await trial. It would also provide drug and <br />alcohol-abuse counseling and other services after trial to prevent <br />non-violent offenders from repeating their crimes.
