0 soak 15 pcF 954 08 <br />The Board considered a change of date for the March Board of <br />commissioners meeting due to the majority of commissioners attending <br />an out-of-town NACo Conference on March 3-7, 1995. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach moved to cancel the first scheduled meeting for March 6th <br />and hold its regular meeting on March 20th at 4:00 P.M. Commissioner <br />Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered matters relating to the Wilrik Hotel <br />property. County Manager William Cowan and County Attorney K. R. <br />Hoyle presented to the Board an Option to Purchase Agreement on the <br />Wilrik Hotel property from Regency Housing Group, Inc. of Raleigh, <br />North Carolina, and approve a Mutual Release of Option to Landmark <br />Asset Services. In cooperation with Carolina Power & Light Company, <br />this group is proposing to renovate this historic structure into a <br />fifty (50) unit apartment complex for the elderly. The building will <br />be restored, as near as possible, to its original architecture. The <br />Regency Housing Group will apply for a $990,000 grant/loan from the <br />North Carolina Home Program to accomplish this project. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Reives moved to approve the Mutual Release of <br />option to Landmark Asset Services. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to authorize the Chairman and Clerk to <br />enter into an Option Agreement with a non-profit firm to qualify the <br />property to its historical, cultural, artistic, archeological or <br />architectural association and restore the historical structure to <br />provide affordable housing for the elderly. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives left the meeting at this time. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Youth Commission. <br />Commissioner Garner nominated Harold Layton to serve on the Youth <br />Commission. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />a <br />
