soon 15 vn E 951 <br />Commissioner Dossenbach made the following statement, "Each of <br />these people which were elected to this Board agreed to serve knowing <br />what they were getting into. Also, the general public does have a <br />recourse if they do not agree with the Board of E & R. They may <br />appeal to the State Board of E & R. We have people on the Board of E <br />& R now and I think it's very well diversified. We have a farmer on <br />there, real estate people, a woman,. and I feel that we are going to <br />do very well with the public, but there is an appeal to the State if <br />people do not feel they got a fair shake when they appear before this <br />Board of Equalization and Review." <br />Commissioner Moretz moved the Resolution establishing the Lee <br />County Board of Equalization and Review be revised to appoint Max <br />Matthews as Vice-Chairman. A copy of the revised Resolution is <br />attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />Max Matthews was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of Equalization <br />and Review. <br />The Board heard an annual report from the Rest Home and Nursing <br />Home Advisory Committee. Mr. Sam Hill, Chairman of this Committee <br />gave the Board an oral report on the work being done by this <br />volunteer Committee and answered questions of the Board. Mrs. Sharon <br />Wilder, Region J Ombudsman from Triangle J Council of Governments was <br />also present and answered questions of the Board. No action was <br />taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered a request to install a small TV <br />transmitting antenna atop the Lee County Government Center. Mr. <br />Burke Buchanan, owner of WBF-TV 46 requested permission to install <br />the antenna to allow for live TV broadcasting from the Government <br />Center. He told the Board there would be no expense to the County <br />for this installation. After some discussion Commissioner Dossenbach <br />moved to approve for WBF-TV 46 to install a small TV transmitting <br />antenna on top of the Lee County Government Center. Commissioner <br />Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered tax releases and refunds for January, 1995. <br />Assistant Tax Administrator Norma Bullard was present and answered <br />05 <br />5 <br />
