Boni 15 ~mx 965 <br />® Mr. Willis Brown, Lee County's representative to the North <br />Carolina House of Representatives spoke briefly to the Board <br />concerning items of interest that will be coming before the House in <br />the near future. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Commissioner Cox <br />moved to approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner Moretz seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a Resolution to name the Lee County Schools <br />Administrative offices, located at 106 Gordon Street, the Heins <br />Education Building. Mrs. Jan Perkinson, Chairperson of the Lee <br />County Board of Education was present and told the Board the <br />Resolution was approved by the Board of Education at their February <br />13, 1995, meeting. After some discussion Commissioner Stafford moved <br />to approve the Resolution to name the Lee County Schools <br />Administrative Offices "Heins Education Building". Commissioner <br />Dossenbach seconded the motion. After further discussion <br />Commissioner Wicker moved to table the matter. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: Dossenbach, Garner and Stafford <br />The Chairman ruled the motion was adopted with a four to three <br />vote. <br />The Board considered a Proclamation designating the week of <br />April 2-8, 1995, as National County Government Week. County Manager <br />William Cowan told of various county functions that would be held <br />during this week, and a dedication ceremony and open house for the <br />new Lee County Courthouse/Jail/Law Enforcement Center and Public <br />Works facility scheduled for Sunday, April 30, 1995. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the following <br />Resolution: <br />NATIONAL COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEER <br />APRIL 2-8, 1995 <br />WHEREAS, counties trace their roots to the English shire of a <br />thousand years ago. <br />WHEREAS, county government structures today are as diverse as <br />the people they represent. <br />~J <br />002 <br />2 <br />
