Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a Grant Award for the Criminal Justice Partnership Program. County Manager William Cowan explained the grant to the Board and answered questions. Commissioner Stafford moved to authorize the Chairman to execute a Grant Award for $17,436.50 for the Criminal Justice Partnership Program; approve a Pre-Trial Release Coordinator position (Grade 66) to be established and added to the Lee County Pay Plan, and instructed that a release be signed by the individual hired for the position stating if grant money is no longer available the position will no longer be funded. The Board considered surplus government property located at 226 Carthage Street (The Federal Building). County Manager William Cowan told the Board he had been notified that this property has been determined to be surplus government property and is available for disposal. After some discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved that the County Manager and County Attorney meet with a representative of the General Services Administration office to discuss a proposal and obtain more detailed information concerning this property. The Board considered a name for the Lee County Schools Administrative offices located at 106 Gordon Street. Commissioner Stafford moved to accept the name of "Heins Education Building".
