500K 15 P",s[ 979
be held at Kiwanis Park, Sanford, North Carolina, on Sunday, April 9,
1995, at 2:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of
childhood immunizations and applauds the efforts of the Health
Department to make sure service is available to the citizens of the
County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for
Lee County that all parents of small children are encouraged to avail
themselves of this opportunity to provide protection for their
children and the communications media are encouraged to give due
notice of such event and the availability of the service.
Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results
were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
Mr. Reginald Petty, a resident of Hidden Valley Subdivision,
appeared before the Board and expressed concerns he has with a septic
tank problem. He told the Board he had cut over one hundred trees in
his yard and put in an extra 150 feet of sewer line and the problem
has not gotten any better. The subdivision currently has a petition
with the City of Sanford to have a sewer line installed in the
development. Health Director Eugene Hines and Environmental
Specialist James Shackleton were present and answered questions of
the Board. No action was taken on the matter after much discussion
took place.
The Board considered a request to sell 0.009 acres of land on
Woodland Trails Road. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board Mr.
and Mrs. Charles H. Angel have offered to purchase "Tract 3" which
contains 0.009 acres of land on Woodland Trails Road for $50 and pay
all advertising expenses. This was previously the site for the
"green box" trash containers that were located throughout the county
before the convenience centers were opened. Mr. Hoyle recommended
that the Board declare the property surplus and offer for sale.
After some discussion commissioner Stafford moved to declare the
property surplus, advertise that the Board will accept the $50 bid
from Mr. and Mrs. Angel, and allow the upset bid process to take
place. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote,
the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
004
4
