aooK f5 nm 987 <br />The Board discussed parking at the new courthouse/jail/law <br />enforcement center. Public Works Director Kenny Cole had received an <br />employee count of spaces needed at the new facility. Ninety-eight <br />(98) spaces will be needed for employee parking. Mr. Cole presented <br />a map of the proposed parking spaces to the Board for discussion. <br />After some discussion Mr. Cole was instructed to get a revised <br />parking list from departments. <br />The Board discussed the construction of a picnic shelter at the <br />Enrichment Center. Public Works Director Kenny Cole and Department <br />of Senior Services Director Pam Adams were present. Mr. Cole told <br />the Board the 1,500 foot screened picnic shelter is ready to be <br />contracted out for site work, which will cost approximately <br />$5,700.00. The County Maintenance Department can do the work on this <br />project. Mrs. Adams told the Board various individuals have donated <br />money for this project and $27,000 of the bond issue funds has been <br />held over for this project. Mr. Cole was instructed to see if the <br />high school carpenter shop could possibly assist with this project. <br />The Board discussed a budget comparison Finance Director Lisa <br />Minter had prepared which compared Lee County's expenditures with <br />Chatham, Harnett and Moore counties. <br />Commissioner Stafford told the Board at this time that he would <br />be resigning from the Lee County Board of Commissioners sometime this <br />summer. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 <br />A.M.
