Wicker School (806 South Vance <br />(Street) <br />The County of Lee has first priority to purchase any land the Board <br />of Education declares surplus (must be purchased at fair market <br />value). If the County does not want any or all of the surplus <br />property it goes back to the Board of Education to dispose of as they <br />wish. County Manager William Cowan was instructed to get the fair <br />market value of each parcel of land above for the next regular <br />meeting of the Board which will be on April 17, 1995. <br />The Board discussed the policy on emergency response to running <br />red lights as it relates to the Emergency Services Department. <br />Emergency Services Director Warren Lee was present and answered <br />questions of the Board. <br />The Board discussed rate increases for Lee County Emergency <br />Medical Services. Emergency Services Director Warren Lee presented a <br />proposed rate increase for his department. The rates have not be <br />increased since 1992. After some discussion Mr. Lee was instructed <br />to get a cost comparison for surrounding counties and get a projected <br />cost rate if the department is upgraded to the paramedic level in the <br />next fiscal year. <br />The Board discussed relocating the Hillcrest Youth Shelter <br />Program to the county-owned residential structure at 205 Hillcrest <br />Drive. Youth Services Director Todd Edwards was present and answered <br />questions of the Board. County Manager William Cowan was instructed <br />to get the property at 205 Hillcrest Drive appraised. <br />011 <br />2 <br />
