01-0 <br />ink ptur 985 <br />MINUTES OF THE WORK SESSION <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />APRIL 10, 1995 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />The work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 A.M. in the Gordon A. <br />Wicker Community Conference Room at the Lee County Government Center, <br />106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present <br />were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; J. <br />Douglas Moretz; Robert T. Reives; and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner <br />J William C. Stafford, Jr. joined the meeting during laster discussion. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle went over the General Statute <br />concerning special meetings and explained to the Board that only <br />items listed on the agenda can be discussed unless all members are <br />present and vote to continued the meeting or a member has signed a <br />waiver. No action can be taken in a work session. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Commissioner <br />Reives moved to approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed the water system grant from Farmers Home <br />Administration for countywide water. Public Works Director Kenny <br />Cole was present along with Engineers Eric Weatherly and Tim <br />Carpenter from Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates. They gave the Board a <br />status on the proposed water system and grant application and <br />answered questions of the Board. <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. joined the meeting during <br />this discussion. <br />The Board discussed a water purchase agreement with the City of <br />Sanford. County Manager William Cowan told the Board the Board of <br />Aldermen for the City of Sanford has approved an Agreement in <br />Principle to furnish municipal bulk water to Lee County.
