01-0 ink ptur 985 MINUTES OF THE WORK SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * APRIL 10, 1995 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 A.M. in the Gordon A. Wicker Community Conference Room at the Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; J. Douglas Moretz; Robert T. Reives; and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner J William C. Stafford, Jr. joined the meeting during laster discussion. Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: County Attorney K. R. Hoyle went over the General Statute concerning special meetings and explained to the Board that only items listed on the agenda can be discussed unless all members are present and vote to continued the meeting or a member has signed a waiver. No action can be taken in a work session. The Board considered approval of the agenda. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board discussed the water system grant from Farmers Home Administration for countywide water. Public Works Director Kenny Cole was present along with Engineers Eric Weatherly and Tim Carpenter from Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates. They gave the Board a status on the proposed water system and grant application and answered questions of the Board. Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. joined the meeting during this discussion. The Board discussed a water purchase agreement with the City of Sanford. County Manager William Cowan told the Board the Board of Aldermen for the City of Sanford has approved an Agreement in Principle to furnish municipal bulk water to Lee County. Mr. Cowan 1
