snoK .15 Pact 993 <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for grinding of wood wastes at the Lee <br />County Landfill. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board <br />that approximately every two years the County contracts out the <br />grinding of wood wastes at the Landfill. He has received bids from <br />the following: <br />Blythe Equipment Co., Inc. $ 6,500 <br />Trenton, NC <br />TODCO Inc. $ 7,200 <br />Lexington, NC <br />Henson's Inc. $12,000 <br />Tryon, NC <br />After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved to accept the low bid <br />from Blyth Equipment Co., Inc. at $6,500.00. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a one-year renewal labor contract between <br />Sanford Correctional Center and Lee County Operational Services. The <br />current contract expires on May 1, 1995. Public Works Director Kenny <br />Cole told the Board his department is currently using six inmates, <br />five days a week, approximately ten months a year. He told the Board <br />he has received substantial cost savings, approximately $48,000, <br />using inmate labor and has had excellent success with this program <br />and wishes to continue with it. The County pays $1.00 per day per <br />inmate for the inmate labor. After some discussion Commissioner Cox <br />moved to approve the one-year renewal contract between Sanford <br />Correctional Center and Lee County Operational Services. <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />004 <br />4 <br />
