FooK 15 PALE 992 <br />garden area at the Kiwanis Park and turn over to the county for <br />maintenance and upkeep. The yearly estimated cost would be $6,700.00 <br />for maintenance. After much discussion Commissioner Stafford moved <br />to approve the request from the Kiwanis Club. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Moretz, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: Cox, Dossenbach and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to <br />three vote. <br />The Board considered two parcels of surplus school properties. <br />County Manager William Cowan told the Board the Board of Education <br />had approved a resolution at their last meeting regarding surplus <br />properties. A 2.29 acre tract of land across from Lee Senior High <br />School, valued at $13,700.00; and 17.85 acres of land located behind <br />Ingram Elementary School, behind Winterlocken Drive and Longview <br />Drive, valued at $53,600, have been declared surplus properties. <br />After much discussion Commissioner Stafford moved for the County not <br />to obtain the 2.29 acre tract of land located across from Lee Senior <br />High School and recommend that the Board of Education transfer the <br />property to Central Carolina Community College without monetary <br />consideration pursuit to GS 160A-274. Commissioner Reives seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the County <br />land located behind Ingram Elementary <br />Drive and Longview Drive, and that'the <br />of this property according to the stat <br />Stafford seconded the motion, and upon <br />follows: <br />not obtain the 17.85 acres of <br />School, behind Winterlocken <br />Board of Education may dispose <br />story procedures.
