6IlU is PACE s <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />001. <br />JUNE 19, 1995 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 P.M. in the <br />Commissioners' Room at the Lee. County Government Center, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present <br />were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; J. <br />Douglas Moretz; Robert T. Reives; William C. Stafford, Jr.; and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. <br />J Chairman Garner presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />Lee County's representative to the North Carolina House of <br />Representative Willis Brown appeared before the Board and ask for <br />support of HB 502, which is pending on the House floor. This bill <br />will allow County's the option of imposing a one-cent sales tax <br />earmarked for the construction of schools or to pay bond issues that <br />were expended in connection with the construction of schools. <br />The Board reviewed the drafts' of the minutes of the May 31, <br />1995, budget work session; June 5, 1995, regular meeting and June 5, <br />1995, budget work session. After noting a correction, Commissioner <br />Cox moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said <br />meetings. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda.
