The Board considered a budget request from the Arts Council. Commissioner Reives moved to give the Arts Council $1,000 in the FY 1995-96 budget. Commissioner Cox moved to give the Arts Council $5,000 since they were giving money away so freely. Commissioner Stafford made a substitute motion to give the Arts Council $1,000. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote of the substitute motion, the results were as follows: Aye: Garner, Moretz, Reives and Stafford Nay: Cox, Dossenbach and Wicker The Chairman ruled the substitute motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. The Board considered a budget request from the Chamber of Commerce for $2,500. County Attorney K.R. Hoyle told the Board there was no statutory basis for this request. The Chamber can only be given money by the County to handle economic development. No action was taken on the matter. Commissioner Dossenbach introduced Hubert Hincks, Chairman of the • Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority, who discussed current funding for the Airport Authority and answered questions of the Board. The Board considered the Health Department's budget. At an earlier work session the Board had cut the Health Department's budget by $64,245. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to replace one-half of the $64,245 previously removed from the Health Department's budget. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
