CA 16 ~4a 81 <br />0?? <br />Association and the award was named in her honor and will be presented <br />annually hereafter; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee County desire to <br />recognize the honors bestowed upon Mrs. Murchison; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County as follows: <br />1. That it extends its sincere congratulations to Margaret <br />Murchison on receiving the first award as news Director of the Year <br />given by her peers in the Radio-Television Association of the <br />Carolinas, and the further distinction and honor of having the award <br />named for her and being granted lifetime membership in the <br />Association. <br />2. <br />That from personal observation <br />it knows <br />that <br />the <br />recognition is <br />well deserved and it applauds <br />the action <br />of <br />said <br />Association. <br />3. <br />That a copy of this resolution <br />be spread <br />upon <br />the <br />minutes of the <br />adjourned regular meeting held o <br />n Monday, <br />June <br />26, <br />1995, and that <br />a copy of this resolution be <br />presented <br />to <br />mrs. <br />Murchison with <br />suitable ceremony. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the Budget Ordinance and Tax Levy for FY <br />1995-96 and Resolution for the 5-year Capital Improvements Program for <br />FY 1995-96 - FY 1999-2000. Finance Director Lisa minter went over <br />recent changes made to the budget from the work session held earlier <br />in the afternoon. County Manager William Cowan told the Board a <br />change in the Budget Ordinance included an increase for the County <br />Manager to approve contracts and other agreements from the current <br />$5,000 to $10,000. After some discussion commissioner Dossenbach <br />moved to eliminate this section and only allow the County Manager <br />authority to approve up to $5,000 for contracts and other agreements. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follow: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Garner and Moretz <br />5 <br />
