80 <br />Aye: Cox, <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairm <br />The Board <br />connection with <br />North Carolina. <br />Dossenbach, Garner, <br />in ruled the motion had <br />considered a permit <br />the conduct of a publ <br />Commissioner Stafford <br />021 <br />Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />been adopted unanimously. <br />for use of pyrotechnics in <br />is exhibition in Lee County, <br />moved to approve the following: <br />PERMIT FOR USE OF PYROTECHNICS <br />Pursuant to the authority contained North Carolina G.S. 14-413, <br />and other satisfactory evidence has been produced to the effect that <br />said pyrotechnics will be used in connection with the public <br />exhibition described in the attached application and none other, the <br />Board of Commissioners for Lee County, North Carolina, issues this <br />permit to Development Management, Inc. to use pyrotechnics for an <br />aerial pyrotechnic display t Riverbirch Corner Shopping Center, <br />Sanford, N.C., on Tuesday, July 4, 1995, in accordance with the <br />attached application, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and <br />by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution honoring Margaret Murchison. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING <br />MARGARET MURCHISON ON RECEIVING AWARD <br />WHEREAS, Margaret Murchison is the news director of Radio Station <br />WWGP/WFJA and has been since 1978; and <br />WHEREAS, the Radio-Television News Directors Association of the <br />Carolina was founded in 1977, and has more than 150 members in North <br />Carolina and South Carolina; and is one of the largest and oldest <br />state-based news directors associations in the United States; and <br />WHEREAS, the Association at its 1995 Annual Meeting for the first <br />time presented an award honoring the News Director of the Year; and <br />WHEREAS, not only was Mrs. Murchison named as the first recipient <br />of the honor but she was granted lifetime membership in the <br />4 <br />
