BuuK 16 U5 008 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />AUGUST 7, 1995 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 a.m. in the Gordon <br />A. Wicker Community Conference Room, Lee County Government Center, <br />106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present <br />were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha <br />/ L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert R. Reives. Commissioner <br />V Gordon A. Wicker was absent due to sickness. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Chairman Garner delivered the invocation. <br />From 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. a reception was held for former <br />Commissioner William C. Stafford, Jr. Comments from various county <br />and city officials were made and a plaque and gift certificate were <br />presented to Mr. Stafford who served as a Lee County Commissioner <br />from 1988 to 1995. <br />At 10:00 a.m. the meeting resumed in the Commissioners' Room <br />with Chairman Garner presiding. <br />Chairman Garner discussed with the Board meeting dates for the <br />month of September, 1995. The work session will be held on Monday, <br />September 11, 1995, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and a regular meeting <br />will be held on Monday, September 25, 1995, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting <br />for Monday, September 18, 1995, has been cancelled. <br />The Board considered drafts; of the regular July 12, 1995, <br />meeting; closed session minutes of the July 12, 1995, meeting; and <br />the August 1, 1995, special called meeting! After noting some <br />changes, Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the minutes' as the <br />official records of said meetings. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />1 <br />
