BOOK 1~ ?p`j n n <br />MINUTES OF THE WORK SESSION <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 1995 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />The work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 a.m. in the Gordon A. <br />Wicker Community Conference Room at the Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha <br />J L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Robert T. Reives and Gordon A. <br />Wicker. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. was out-of-town and <br />unable to attend. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was <br />transacted. <br />Chairman Garner delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered drafts' of the regular August 111, 1995, <br />work session, and the closed session minutes for the August 14, <br />1995, meeting. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the minutes' <br />as the official records of said meetings. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion., and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. commissioner <br />Matthews moved to approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner <br />Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Representatives from United Way of Lee County were present and <br />gave a presentation to the Board on what United Way does for Lee <br />County. Mrs. Bunny O'Sullivan, Mrs. Crickett Scovill, Ms. Cassandra <br />Caldwell and Mr. Jim Felton spoke briefly. <br />1 <br />
