eoo 16 r cf 200 0 2 2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATERSHED PROTECTION ORDINANCE AND THE WATERSHED PROTECTION MAP OF LEE COUNTY WHEREAS, the Watershed Protection Act requires that all local governments having land within a water supply watershed adopt and i ordinances that at least meet the requirements North Carolina's minimum water supply watershed and, (NCGS 143-214.5) use jurisdiction nplement land use of the State of protection rules; WHEREAS, on the 6th day of December, 1993, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County, North Carolina adopted the Watershed Protection Ordinance of Lee County & simultaneously therewith the "Watershed Protection Map of Lee County, North Carolina" ("the Watershed Map") which became effective on the 1st. day of January, 1994; and, WHEREAS, on the 14th day of July, 1994, the North Carolina Environmental Management commission reclassified a portion of the Deep River River Basin as WS-IV-PA (Protected Area) and WS-IV-CA (Critical Area) for the Lee County public water supply intake; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners of Lee County, North Carolina: Section 1. That "the Watershed Map" established by Section 2 of the Lee County Watershed Protection Ordinance be amended to include the watershed protection areas designated WS-IV-PA (Protected Area) & WS-IV-CA (Critical Area) for a portion of the Deep River River Basin which was reclassified by the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission on July 14, 1994 to protect the watershed areas surrounding the Lee County public water supply intake. Section 2. That the watershed protection areas shall be defined and established on the map entitled, "the Watershed Map", as amended hereby & adopted simultaneously herewith. Section 3. That the provisions of the Watershed Protection Ordinance of Lee County, as amended, shall be applicable in all areas, as amended, on "the Watershed Map" on the effective date of this Ordinance. Section 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective on the 25th day of August, 1995.
