She further stated the study said the <br />development of the airport would not involve the relocation of any <br />businesses, divide or disrupt any established community. She further <br />stated closing of the road would cause hardships on some individuals <br />that travel this road daily. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to close the public hearings. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Reives and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved approval of the following: <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ABANDONMENT <br />OF A SEGMENT OF LEE'S CHAPEL ROAD <br />SECONDARY ROAD 1425, LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County received a <br />petition asking for the abandonment of a portion of Secondary Road No. <br />1425 as shown on the map attached to this resolution and by this <br />reference made a part hereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board had a public notice published in the Sanford <br />Herald on September 14, 1995, to the effect that a public hearing would <br />be held on said matter on September 25, 1995, at the Commissioners' <br />Room, Lee County Government Center, Sanford, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board had the Clerk mail letters with a copy of a <br />map showing the approximate location of the portion of roadway asked to <br />be abandoned, a copy of the petition, and a copy of the notice of the <br />hearing to all property owners on said road between its intersection <br />with Secondary Road No. 1424 (Ammon's Farm Road) and its intersection <br />with Secondary Road No. 1002 (Lower Moncure Road) and also to all <br />property owners on Northern Ranches Road, a private road off of said <br />Lee's Chapel Road; and <br />WHEREAS, all of the owners of property adjoining the section to <br />be abandoned except one family have either signed the petition or <br />mailed to the Board a letter supporting the petition for abandonment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners heard all persons who <br />requested to be heard at the public hearing; and <br />14 <br />
