0 0 <br />6UOK 16 Ercf 192 <br />The Chairman invited Planning Board members to join the <br />Commissioners for public hearings scheduled for this date and time. <br />414 <br />Planning Director Trevis Averett told the Boards' that Mr. Mark <br />T. Lyczkowski was requesting to rezone from Residential Agricultural <br />District to Residential Mixed District 62.17 acres of land located on <br />the south side of Hwy. 42 East, Broadway Road, being southwest of the <br />intersection of Broadway Road with Avents Ferry Road. <br />Mr. Mark Lyczkowski told the Board he was proposing a 58 lot <br />subdivision for manufactured homes on brick foundations. <br />Mrs. Clemellin Welch of Broadway Road spoke against the rezoning <br />petition. She told the Boards' there are currently 250 manufactured <br />homes in the area at present, with the area already over-populated and <br />congested. She also had concerns about property values in the area. <br />Mr. Wayne Watson of 213 Avents Ferry Road asked questions <br />concerning what types of industry around the proposed site is the <br />petitioner proposing. <br />Planning Board Chairman James Wicker told the Board of <br />Commissioners the Planning Board recommended the County approve the <br />amended Watershed Protection Ordinance and the Watershed Protection Map <br />of Lee County. <br />Mr. Herb Hincks, Chairman of the Sanford-Lee County Airport <br />Authority told the Board the Department of Transportation were <br />requesting a portion of Lee's Chapel Road in northern Lee County be <br />closed due to the construction of the new airport. Mr. Hincks spoke in <br />favor of the road closure. <br />Mr. Leslie Cox of 1010 Wentworth Court spoke in favor of the <br />proposed airport and road closure. <br />Mr. Albert Adcock, representing the Committee of 100, spoke in <br />favor of the road closure and encouraged proceeding with the <br />construction of the new airport. <br />Chairman Garner read a letter in support of the road closure from <br />Dr. Herb J. Goldston, M.D., Mount Vernon, Washington, heir to one of <br />the pieces of property on Lee's Chapel Road. <br />Mr. Charlie Snavely of 6506 Northern Ranches Road spoke about <br />concerns he had for paving the east end of Lee's Chapel Road and his <br />concerns about dumping in that area since it will be on a dead-end dirt <br />road. <br />Mrs. Laura Young of 7500 Deep River Road spoke against the <br />closing of Lee Chapel Road. She referred to the environmental study <br />that was completed approximately two years ago. This study stated the <br />13 <br />
