The Chairman appointed a committee. of himself and <br />Commissioners' Reives and Cox to work with city representatives on the <br />matter of working with the City of Sanford to see what is the most <br />economical way to accommodate residents that fall between the city <br />water lines and county water lines about obtaining water. <br />The Board considered amending the Rules of Procedure to add <br />"Introduction of New Employees". At a previous meeting Commissioner <br />Reives had requested that all new employees attend a meeting of the <br />Board and be introduced. County Manager William Cowan recommended the <br />Board amend the Rules of Procedure for Work Sessions and have all new <br />employees attend and meet the full Board on a quarterly basis as the <br />first order of business. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved <br />to approve amending the Rules of Procedure for Work Sessions and have <br />all new employees attend and meet the Board on a quarterly basis. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Reives and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Rest Home and Nursing <br />Home Advisory Board. Currently there are three (3) vacancies on that <br />® Board. Commissioner Dossenbach nominated Mr. Sam Hill, Mr. Tom <br />Yarborough and Mrs. Viola Bowlin to serve on the Rest Home and Nursing <br />Home Advisory Board. Commissioner Reives moved to accept the above <br />nominations. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Reives and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Health Board due to <br />the recent resignation of Mr. Lee Pugh. Commissioner Moretz nominated <br />Mr. Joel Budd to fill the vacant position. Commissioner Reives told <br />the Board he had contacted Mr. Ed Gray about serving but had declined <br />the offer. He further stated he had tried to contact Mr. Rufus <br />Guerrero but had not been able to reach him about serving. He asked <br />the Board to postpone nominations until he had a chance to speak with <br />Mr. Guerrero. Commissioner Cox moved to accept the nomination of Mr. <br />Joel Budd to the Health Board.
