004 <br />BOOK 16 -~cG 217 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the purchase of a new roll off truck for the <br />Solid Waste Department. County Manager William Cowan presented the <br />following bids to the Board for consideration: <br />Cavalier Equipment Company <br />Roanoke, Virginia <br />Primary Bid $ 96,181.90 <br />Alternate Bid 1 93,311.30 <br />Alternate Bid 2 95,131.60 <br />Carolina Environmental Systems <br />Greensboro, NC <br />Primary Bid $101,529.00 <br />Alternate Bid 1 96,438.00 <br />Alternate Bid 2 97,978.00 <br />Lodal-South, Inc. <br />Rockingham, NC <br />Primary Bid $104,089.00 <br />Commissioner Reives moved to accept alternate bid 1 from Cavalier <br />Equipment Company, Roanoke, Virginia, at $93,311.30. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proposal with Dixon-Odom & Company <br />concerning refund of sales tax. County Manager William Cowan told the <br />Board Dixon-Odom & Company will determine from information provided by <br />various non-profit corporations, municipalities, and state agencies <br />located in Lee County any increase in the county distribution from the <br />North Carolina Department of Revenue for the time period allowed by the <br />North Carolina General Statutes, usually three to three and one-half <br />years. The proposal will cover a fee of 20% of the first $100,000 of <br />sales tax refund identified and allocated to the County by the <br />Department and 15% of the refund amounts in excess of $100,000. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve a proposal with Dixon-Odom & <br />Company. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />4 <br />
