Book 236 0 07 <br />told the Board that on May 1, 1995, the Board approved the leasing of <br />700 square feet of office space in the renovated courthouse to the <br />North Carolina Department of Corrections at $9.00 per square foot. <br />The final negotiations have been completed and it has been arranged <br />for the leasing of 1,039 square feet to the Department of Corrections <br />for an annual rental of $9,351.00 for a three year term has been <br />agreed upon. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the following <br />resolution: <br />RESOLUTION RATIFYING LEASE WITH STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />FOR SPACE IN COURTHOUSE FOR <br />DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS PERSONNEL <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners on May 1, 1995, approved the <br />leasing of 700 square feet of space in the renovated courthouse to <br />the North Carolina Department of Corrections at $9.00 per square <br />foot; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Manager has concluded his negotiations with <br />the Department of Corrections and has arranged for the leasing of <br />1,039 square feet to said Department for an annual rental of <br />$9,351.00 for a three year term commencing on September 1, 1995; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of <br />Lee County that the lease entered into by William K. Cowan as County <br />Manager in the name and on behalf of the County on October 24, 1995, <br />with the State of North Carolina for 1,039 square feet of office <br />space in Rooms 102-106, 109-111 and 113 in the old courthouse <br />building, 1416 South Horner Boulevard, Sanford, North Carolina, for <br />three years beginning September 1, 1995, at $9,351.00 per annum is <br />hereby adopted, confirmed and approved. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a lease agreement with Lee and Harnett <br />Counties for the Criminal Justice Program. Community Corrections <br />Director Randell Woodruff asked the Board to approve the lease <br />agreement. County Manager William Cowan told the Board this was a <br />standard agreement to lease and had been reviewed by the County <br />Attorney. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the lease agreement <br />as presented. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion. After <br />further discussion Commissioner Reives amended his motion to table <br />7 <br />
