Chairman Garner told the <br />Board Johnston-Lee Community Action has been authorized to apply for <br />funding from NC Housing Finance for Single-Family Housing Renovation. <br />By combining the total population of the two county areas, they can <br />apply for up to $400,000 to renovate nineteen (19) homes - seven (7) <br />in Lee County and twelve (12) in Johnston County. They are <br />requesting a match of $14,700 from Lee County to insure funds to <br />give these seven (7) houses what they need to be brought up to <br />standard and have many years of life added to the housing stock in <br />Lee County. No action was taken on the matter. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to close the work session and re-open <br />the regular adjourned meeting of the Board to consider an appointment <br />for the vacancy on the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted and the regular <br />meeting resumed. <br />Chairman Garner announced the floor was open for nominations for <br />the vacancy on the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Moretz moved <br />to table the matter until the Lee County Democratic Party submits <br />more names for consideration. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: Garner <br />vote. <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to one <br />After further discussion Commissioner Reives moved to reconsider <br />the nomination for the vacancy on the Board of Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the vote, and the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Matthews and Reives <br />Nay: Dossenbach and Moretz <br />3 <br />
