Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews & Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a matching funds request from Johnston-Lee <br />Community Action. Ms. Marie Watson, Executive Director from <br />Johnston-Lee Community Action, was present and told the Board they <br />were requesting the County contribute $14,700 to assist with <br />renovating seven (7) homes that need to be brought up to standard in <br />Lee County. They are planning on applying for funding from NC <br />Housing Finance for Single-Family Housing Renovation to handle this <br />project. If approved, twelve (12) homes in Johnston County and seven <br />(7) homes in Lee County will be renovated. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the request to commit $14,700 <br />to this project. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Tax Releases and Refunds for October, 1995. <br />Tax Administrator Nathan Crissman answered questions of the Board. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve Tax Releases and Refunds for <br />October, 1995, as presented. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a review of 1995 taxes for property located <br />on Carthage Street owned by S. K. Maness Trust Estate. Ms. Ruth <br />Gurtis questioned the Board on the tax value placed on this property <br />and the manner in which this matter was handled. After much <br />discussion the matter was referred to the Tax office and no action <br />was,taken by the Board. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to recess the meeting till 7:00 p.m. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />6 <br />
