Commissioner Matthews moved to accept donations to <br />the Criminal Justice Program in the amount of $100.00 each from <br />Static Control Components, Inc. and Tyson Foods of Sanford. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard an audit report for the Sanford-Lee County <br />Regional Airport Authority for year ended June 30, 1995. Mr. Larry <br />Faulkner from Dixon-Odom & Co., L.L.P. presented the report and <br />answered questions of the Board. No action was taken. <br />Commissioner Matthews asked that the Board add an item to the <br />agenda concerning the WPA painting that previously hung in the old <br />courthouse. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews told the Board The Sanford Woman's Club <br />has taken the WPA painting as their Community Improvement Project and <br />have committed $1,000 to the estimated $6,000-$8,000 cost of its <br />restoration and framing. A fund raising campaign cannot be started <br />until the Club knows where the painting is to be relocated. <br />Commissioner Moretz has discussed this matter with the Lee County Bar <br />Association and moved that the WPA painting go back in the courtroom <br />of the old courthouse, at no cost to the County.
