The County Attorney is hereby designated to employ bond <br />counsel to represent the County of Lee in the authorization and <br />issuance of the bonds. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for the parking lot expansion at the <br />Government Center. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board <br />he had received the following bids for the construction of the <br />parking that will connect the Government Center lot with the <br />Lee-Harnett Mental Health parking lot: <br />BIDDER BASE BID ALTERNATE BID <br />Lee Paving Company $69,900.00 $ 85,435.00 <br />Sanford Grading Company $77,418.00 $ 98,793.00 <br />Mr. Cole told the Board he recommended the alternate bid from Lee <br />Paving Company which will pave the existing lot and construct <br />eighty-nine (89) new spaces. After some discussion commissioner <br />Reives moved to approve the alternate bid from Lee Paving Company at <br />$85,435.00. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered reduced gym rental fees for volunteer <br />groups. Recreation Director Jennifer Sipe told the Board the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission approved on October 23, 1995, to allow <br />volunteer groups (churches, non-profit organizations and civic <br />groups) to rent the gymnasiums for $8.00 per hour (from $10.00 per <br />hour). Commissioner Cox moved to approve the reduced rental fee from <br />$10.00 per hour to $8.00 per hour for volunteer groups. Commissioner <br />Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />006 <br />6 <br />
