01 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />V <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 1996 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 a.m. in the <br />Commissioners Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners, present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha L. <br />Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Rev. Jack Page, Pastor of Lemon Springs United Methodist <br />Church delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered a draft of the December 11, 1995, special <br />meeting. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the minutes as the <br />official record of said meeting. Commissioner Moretz seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle informed the Board that Van R. Groce <br />had been appointed by Clerk of Superior Court Lucille York to fill <br />the vacant seat created by the late Gordon A. Wicker. At this time <br />Mrs. York administered the oath of office to Mr. Groce and he took <br />his seat with other Board members. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairman Garner <br />asked the Board to discuss a sound system for the Gordon A. Wicker <br />Community Conference Room. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve <br />the agenda as printed, with the above addition. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />1 <br />
