500f, , 16 312 <br />Section 4. A sworn statement of the County's debt has been filed with the Clerk of the <br />Board of Commissioners and is open to public inspection. <br />Section 5. This bond order shall take effect when approved by the voters of the <br />County at a referendum. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the bond order entitled, `BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF <br />$25,000,000 SCHOOL BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE," has been introduced at the meeting of the <br />Board of Commissioners held on February 5, 1996, and the Board desires to provide for the holding of a <br />public hearing thereon and the submission of a statement of debt in connection therewith as required by <br />The Local Government Bond Act; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee, as follows: <br />(t) The public hearing upon said bond order shall be held on the 11th day of March, <br />1996, at 10:00 a.m., in the Board of Commissioners Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />(2) The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed to cause a copy of the <br />bond order to be published with a notice of such hearing in the form prescribed by <br />law in a qualified newspaper no fewer than six days prior to such public hearing. <br />(3) The County's Finance Officer is hereby directed to file with the Clerk of the Board <br />of Commissioners prior to publication of the bond order with the notice of such <br />public hearing, a statement setting forth the debt incurred or to be incurred, the <br />assessed value of property subject to taxation by the County and the net debt of the <br />County <br />Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to hold a public hearing on the special election of school bonds in the <br />amount of $25,000,000 on March 11, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room, Lee County <br />Government Center. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the transfer of title to the old Sanford-Lee County Airport property to the <br />Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board the Airport <br />Authority had requested that the property presently owned by the City of Sanford and County of Lee and <br />used as the airport be conveyed to it in order that it might obtain grants for navigational equipment and <br />other items for present use and to enable it to comply with terms of grant for construction of the new <br />airport. Airport Authority Chairman Herb Hincks was present and answered questions of the Board. <br />007 <br />
