® 01.0 <br />aoo~, 16 -1.< < 315 <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to leave the Tax Department as it currently is, with one Tar <br />Administrator over the department. Commissioner Dosscnbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to authorize the County Manager to start advertising for a Tax <br />Administrator position. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Moretz discussed with the Board train routing through Sanford. He felt some <br />people would commute to Raleigh with their jobs if the train stopped in Sanford, which it does not do <br />at the present time. He would like to see the train take a more southerly route from what it is <br />currently taking. After some discussion County Attorney K. R. Hoyle was authorized to contact DOT <br />Department of Railroads to get answers to questions. <br />Chairman Garner asked that the minutes show there is a bus station terminal located in <br />Jonesboro. <br />Commissioner Moretz discussed with the Board information he recently requested from Lee- <br />Harnett Mental Health. He stated that if one Commissioner wants information from an agency or <br />authority the County Manager should be able to get that information and forward to all Board <br />members. After much discussion Commissioner Moretz moved that if any Board member wanted <br />information from Mental Health, or any agency or authority, to go through the County Manager's <br />Office. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dosscnbach moved to go into closed session to give instructions to the County <br />Attorney in the handling of a claim. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in closed <br />session. County Manager William Cowan ask the Board to allow Emergency Services Director <br />Warren Lee to attend the closed session. Following the Board's discussion in closed session, <br />Commissioner Cox moved to go out of closed session. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />10 <br />
