Eoot. 16 = i 008 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, a Group Study Exchange Team from District 1450, Denmark, <br />composed of Louis Ludvigsen, Helle Bergstein, Peter Vinge Koustrup, Helle Bremer <br />Kristiansen, and Rikke Skouboe is arriving in Lee County, North Carolina, on Sunday, <br />March 24, 1996, under the auspices of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International <br />with the Rotary Clubs of Lee County acting as hosts; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee County wishes to extend a <br />cordial welcome to the members of the Group Study Exchange Team and its wishes for <br />a pleasant and productive visit to our county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I., F. HUBERT GARNER, CHAIRMAN, under <br />and by virtue of the authority conferred upon me, do hereby publicly declare that the <br />people of Lee County, North Carolina, do extend to each member of the Group Study <br />Exchange Team from District 1450, Denmark, a cordial and heartfelt welcome to our <br />county and the sincere wish that each member's stay with us will be joyful, productive, <br />and memorable. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a presentation from Ms. Judi Marsh concern First Night <br />Sanford festivities scheduled for December 31, 1996. She asked for coordination and <br />cooperation of local governments, civic organizations and many volunteer citizens to <br />make this event a reality. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Community Child Protective Team <br />administered by the Department of Social Services. Social Services Director Diane <br />Lamb told the Board two individuals had resigned from this Team and she <br />recommended that Mrs. Barbara Cameron and Mrs. Barbara Johnson be named as <br />replacements. Commissioner Matthews moved to appoint Mrs. Barbara Cameron and <br />Mrs. Barbara Johnson to the Community Child Protective Team. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay:: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />7 <br />
