Chairman Garner moved approval of <br />the following resolution and proclamation: <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br />ROTARY CLUBS OF LEE COUNTY <br />FOR <br />PARTICIPATION IN GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE PROGRAMS <br />AND <br />AUTHORIZING PROCLAMATION BY CHAIRMAN <br />WHEREAS, the Group Study Exchange Program of The Rotary Foundation of <br />Rotary International is an educational activity which promotes international <br />understanding through organized travel and person-to-person contact; and <br />WHEREAS, a Group Study Exchange Team from Denmark District 1450 will <br />be coming to Lee County (District 7690, North Carolina) on Sunday, March 24, 1966; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the team members will visit government and legal institutions, <br />schools and colleges, and historical and scenic points of interest and they will observe <br />social practices and participate in religious, cultural and recreational activities as well as <br />spending time studying his or her profession or related activities in this area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to commend the Rotary Clubs <br />of Lee County for their participation in this worthwhile program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County as follows: <br />Section I. The Rotary Clubs of Lee County are commended for their <br />participation in the Group Study Exchange Program of The Rotary Foundation of <br />Rotary International and making possible a visit to our community of a Group Study <br />Exchange Team from Denmark. <br />Section 2. The Chairman is authorized and directed to issue a <br />proclamation welcoming the Group Study Exchange Team to Lee County. <br />6 <br />
