as N?rH 3460 013 <br />approve the FY 1996 application for funding for Johnston-Lee Community Action as <br />presented. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Croce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an offer to purchase a 40-foot lot on Hillcrest Drive. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board Mr. R. 0. Pace, Jr. had offered the <br />County $1,000 to purchase the 40-foot lot adjacent to the house and lot at 205 <br />Hillcrest Drive. After some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the <br />following: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE <br />ADVERTISEMENT OF AN OFFER TO <br />PURCHASE PROPERTY ON <br />HILLCREST DRIVE, SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA <br />WHEREAS, the County Manager received on February 13, 1996, an offer to <br />purchase the northern U2 of lot 26 in McIver Park for $1,000 from Mr. R. 0. Pace, Jr. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County as follows: <br />1. The following described property is hereby declared to be surplus to <br />the needs of the County: <br />BEGINNING at an iron stake in the western line of Hillcrest Drive <br />common corner between lots 25 and 26 as shown on plat hereinafter referred to and <br />running thence in a westerly direction as said dividing line between lots 25 and 26, <br />153.7 feet to a stake; thence southwardly as the western line of lot 26, 40.03 feet to a <br />stake, corner of the 0.0. Harrell lot; thence easterly, parallel to the common line of <br />lots 26 and 27 and 40 feet therefrom, 153.7 feet to a stake in the western line of <br />Hillcrest Drive; thence northward as the western line of Hillcrest Drive 40 feet to the <br />point of BEGINNING, being the northern half of lot 26 according to the plat of <br />McIver Park by Robert B. Cridland and recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds <br />of Lee County in Book of Surveys No. 1, Page 187 to which plat reference is hereby <br />made. <br />2. The Board of Commissioners proposes to accept the offer unless an <br />upset bid shall be made. <br />12 <br />
