g~ii{, 16 l: 37C 003 <br />The Board heard a presentation from Mr. Jack Christian and Dr. Lynn Veach <br />Sadler concerning the "Railroad Town Celebration". They explained some of the <br />activities that will take place on Saturday, May 4, 1996 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in <br />downtown Sanford. After the presentation Commissioner Matthews moved approval <br />of the following resolution and proclamation: <br />RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br />THE <br />RAILROAD TOWN CELEBRATION COMMITTEE <br />AND THE <br />LEE COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL <br />FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION <br />IN <br />RAILROAD HERITAGE DAYS IN LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the Railroad Town Celebration Committee is a county-wide group <br />led by the Lee County Arts Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Railroad Town Celebration Committee will hold a celebration <br />entitled "Railroad Heritage Days in Lee County" on May 3 - 5, 1996, which will consist <br />of various activities for the citizens of and visitors to Lee County to participate in and <br />enjoy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee County wishes to commend <br />the Railroad Town Celebration Committee and the Lee County Arts Council for their <br />efforts in promoting this celebration. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County as follows: <br />SECTION 1. The Railroad Town Celebration Committee and the Lee <br />County Arts Council are commended for their participation in this celebration. <br />SECTION 2. The Chairman is authorized and directed to issue a <br />proclamation commending the Railroad Town Celebration Committee and the Lee <br />County Arts Council. <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the Railroad Town Celebration Committee, a county-wide group <br />led by the Lee County Arts Council, will hold "Railroad Heritage Days in Lee County" <br />on May 3-5,1996; and <br />3 <br />
