MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY, MAY 6, 1996 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room, Lee County / Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Van R. Groce; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. The Rev. Gordon West, pastor of Flat Springs Baptist Church delivered the invocation. The Board considered approval of the draft of the minutes of the April 15, 1996 regular meeting. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairman Garner moved that item 6-A (request from the Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority) be deleted from the agenda and Commissioner Matthews asked that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Health Department employees commending them for the extra hours they have been putting in recently. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the agenda as printed with the above changes. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None Commissioner Moretz asked the Board to discuss a merit pay plan for the County.
