quo,. 16 =r - 0 0 7 <br />WHEREAS, the children of Lee County and all other counties need the assistance <br />this bond issue will provide to build the public schools our children deserve, and <br />WHEREAS, a dedicated and consistent source of funding will also be necessary <br />to address existing and future needs, and <br />WHEREAS, the public school facilities crisis requires immediate comprehensive <br />legislative action, for all the children of North Carolina and for the State's future, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners strongly supports the $1.8 billion bond proposal and the establishment of a <br />dedicated and consistent funding source; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />urges all legislators representing Lee County, and all other legislators, to work for, vote <br />for, and adopt the $1.8 billion bond issue and a dedicated source to address immediate and <br />future needs, in this legislative session. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice-Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request to the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation concerning a study for the placement of a caution light. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach moved that a study be completed by the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation for the placement of a caution light at the intersection of Lemon Springs <br />Road and St. Andrews Road. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered budget amendment # 06/03/96/25 which consisted of <br />routine budget adjustments. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve budget amendment <br /># 06/03/96/25 as presented, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />4 <br />
