N r. 40 005 <br />After returning from the recess, with all members of the Board of Commissioners <br />present, except Commissioner Garner, the meeting resumed in the Commissioners Room. <br />The Board considered approval of the draft of the minutes of the May 20, 1996 <br />regular meeting. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the minutes as the official <br />record of said meeting. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice-Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered property surplus for the June 8, 1996 auction with the City <br />of Sanford. Public Works Director Kenny Cole presented a revised list of items to be <br />declared surplus for the Boards consideration. After some discussion Commissioner <br />Groce moved to surplus the items presented for the joint auction with the City of Sanford. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice-Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle <br />asked the Board to consider a permit for use of pyrotechnics in connection with the 4`s of <br />July celebration at Riverbirch Shopping Center. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the <br />agenda as printed, with the above addition. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice-Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proclamation to declare June 15, 1996 as "Flag Day". <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle read the proclamation aloud. Commissioner Reives moved <br />to approve the following: <br />FLAG DAY 1996 <br />WHEREAS, the American Flag is recognized throughout the world as a symbol <br />of freedom; and <br />2 <br />
