That it extends its heartfelt congratulations to the coaches and <br />members of the Lee County Senior High School baseball team for their superior <br />performance, both on and off the field, throughout the scholastic baseball season and in <br />winning the State Class 4-A Baseball Championship. <br />2. That the Chairman be authorized to arrange and schedule a <br />meeting when a copy of this resolution may be presented to representatives of the team <br />and coaching staff with appropriate ceremony. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved approval of the following: <br />RESOLVED that the members of legislative delegation representing Lee <br />County in the General Assembly are requested to seek and secure an appropriation in the <br />amount of $200,000.00 for the construction of a building in Lee County for use by the <br />Forest Resources Division of the Department of Environment, Health and Natural <br />Resources. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the selling of malt beverages in Lee County. Commissioner <br />Moretz asked the Board to add this item to a future agenda for discussion purposes. He <br />feels stores in the county are being discriminated against because they cannot sell malt <br />beverages outside the city limits of Sanford. The Board agreed to place this item on an <br />upcoming agenda for discussion purposes. <br />The Board considered the Heins Education Building facility. Commissioner <br />Moretz had concerns about the doors not being left open (unlocked) to the Board of <br />Elections Office in the basement of this building. After some discussion County Manager <br />William Cowan was instructed to (1) get a time-line on when the doors will be left open; <br />(2) find out the agreement on the conference room in the basement area; (3) get a blue- <br />print of the building showing vacant space, if any in the building; and (4) the status on <br />signs directing the public to the Board of Elections Office. <br />4 <br />
