Rpp 16 ~r 418 <br />The meeting recessed till 7:00 p.m. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m., with all members present, Commissioner Dossenbach <br />moved to hold a public hearing on the proposed FY 1996/97 Budget. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the floor was <br />open for public comments. The following individuals spoke in reference to the proposed <br />FY 1996/97 Budget: <br />Dr. Marvin Joyner, President of Central Carolina Community College <br />Mr. Hal Siler, Retired Director of the Chamber of Commerce <br />Mr. R. B. Guthrie, Member Central Carolina Board of Trustees <br />Mr. Tommy Mann, Sr., Member Central Carolina Board of Trustees <br />Mr. David Simpson, Vice-Chairman, Lee County Board of Education <br />Mr. George Whitaker, Chairman, Lee County Board of Elections <br />Mr. Randy Paschal, Chief, West Pocket Fire Department <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to close the public hearing. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board continued with unfinished items from the work session agenda at this <br />time. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Senior High School baseball team concluded <br />a highly successful season by winning the State Class 4-A Baseball Championship on June <br />9, 1996. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee County wishes to <br />recognize the achievements of these outstanding young athletes and their coaches, Now <br />Therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County as <br />follows: <br />003 <br />3 <br />
