0 0.00; 16 :,f,r 416 0 0 IL <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR WORK SESSION <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, JUNE 10, 1996 <br />J The regular work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 5:00 p.m. in the Gordon A. Wicker Community <br />Conference Room, I't Floor, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha L. Matthews; Van R. Groce; J. Douglas <br />Moretz and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Groce delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered a draft of the minutes of the May 13, 1996 special work <br />session. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said <br />meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairman Garner asked the Board <br />to consider (1) a resolution to the Lee County Senior High School baseball team on <br />winning the State Class 4-A Baseball Championship on June 9, 1996; (2) a resolution to <br />members of the legislative delegation requesting to seek and secure appropriations for the <br />construction of a building to be used by the Forest Resources Division of the Department <br />of Environment, Health and Natural Resources; and (3) a closed session to discuss with <br />the County Attorney a waiver of the statute of limitations period. Commissioner Moretz <br />asked the Board to consider (1) discussion on malt beverages in Lee County; (2) <br />discussion of the use of the facility at the Heins Education Building, and (3) discussion <br />relating to the Board of Education's budget. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to <br />approve the agenda as printed, with the above additions. Commissioner Reives seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />1 <br />
