evuh 16 131 <br />Article II, Definitions, Guilford County Development Ordinance <br />001.1 <br />(AG) VELOC= The average velocity offlaw through thecross section of the main channel at the peak flow of <br />the storm of interest The cross section of the main channel shall be that area defined by the geometry of <br />the channel plus the area of flow below the flood height defined by vertical lines at the main channel banks. <br />Overload flows are not to be included for the purpose of computing velocity of flow. <br />(AH) ""ODIFI 'AnON_ MA TOR WATERSHED. Modification of the existing regulation3 that does not meet <br />the definition of a Minor Watershed Motimcation. <br />(Al) u.nnrrrr -C"T MINOR WATERSHED Modification of the casting regulations that meets one of <br />the fo criteria: (A) Modification of any standard present in the Ordinance but not in the State <br />Water Supp Watershed Protection Rules; (B) Modification of any standard on which the level of <br />performan ce required by the Ordinance exrcaeds that regt»red by the cm, .riding section of the State <br />Water Supply Watershed Protection Rules, provided that approval of the modification does not lower the <br />level of perforiitancc below that required by the State re gulations; or (C) Modification of any standard <br />expressed as a distance. <br />(AJ) Structures for which the use requires access or proximity to or <br />shins within surface waters to fulfill its basic purpose, such as boat ramps, boat houses, docks, and <br />bulkheads. Ancillary facilities such as restaurants, outlets for boat supplies, parking lots, and commercial <br />boat storage areas are not water dependent structures. <br />(AK) WATERSHED WATER SUPPLY. The entire area contributing drainage to Lake Townsend Lake <br />Brandt, Lake Higgins, Oak Hollow Lake, High Point City Lake, Polecat Creek Lake, Reidsville Reservoir, <br />Lake Mackintosh, Ramseur Reservoir, Madison intake, and the proposed Randleman Dam reservoir. <br />(AL) . That portion of the watershed within the lake basin of the water <br />supply reservoir as delineated in Article VII (Environmental Regulations). <br />(AM) A pond that has a permanent pool and also collects stormwater runoff, filters <br />the water, and releases it slowly over a period of days. <br />2-1.3 Dwelling <br />(A) ACCF4SO2Y DWE1 i TNC i 1Ni f A dwelling unit that exists either as part of a principal dwelling. or as <br />an accessory building, and is secondary and incidental to the use of the property as single family residential. <br />(B) C QNDOMINIUM• Portions of real estate which are de i ted for separate ownership, and the <br />remainder of which is designated for common ownership sole by the owners of those portions. S.
