0020 <br />rr <br />16 - 0 <br />Economic Development Corporation and (2) review the Planning Board's recent <br />recommendations concerning rezoning requests for Mr. Wayne Spivey and Mr. Alex <br />Autry. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the agenda as printed, with the above <br />additions. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The North Carolina Department of Transportation presented their annual <br />Secondary Road Construction Program to the Board. Department of Transportation <br />representative J. A. Clendenin presented the program and answered questions of the <br />Board. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the following: <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation anticipated a July <br />1996 allocation of $181,353 in Secondary Road Construction Funds and $117,656 in <br />Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $299,009 for the forthcoming construction <br />season and a public meting was held on June 24, 1996 in the Commissioners' Room of the <br />County Government Center in Sanford concerning the expenditures of said funds. <br />WHEREAS, It is proposed to retain $11,353 of Secondary Road Construction <br />Funds and $21,656 of Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $33,009 for small <br />projects that may arise during the year such as road additions, property owner <br />participation projects, volunteer fire department drives, county-wide surveys, overdrafts, <br />etc. <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation is required to pave <br />2.36 miles in Lee County during the Fiscal Year 1996-97 in order to meet the goals of <br />1989 Highway Trust Fund Legislation and the 1996-97 Secondary Road Construction <br />Program proposes to pave 2.38 miles; and therefore, the remainder of funds received in <br />addition to $299,009 be utilized for paved secondary road improvement projects, spot <br />stabilization of unpaved secondary roads, and additional paving of unpaved roads as far as <br />funds will allow. <br />WHEREAS, It is proposed to utilize $170,000 of Secondary Road Construction <br />Funds and $96,000 of Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of $266,000 to pave the <br />following unpaved road construction projects: <br />A. Paving unpaved Rural Roads as far as right-of-way and funding will allow. <br />PRIORITY 8F Grade, Drain, Base, Pave and Erosion Control - SR 1425 from <br />SR 1002 to Dead End - 0.53 mile <br />Secondary Road Construction Fund <br />2 <br />
