0033 <br />~ofl~, 16 p~~c 453 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed the Lee County Economic Development Corporation. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to request the Economic Development Director report to the <br />Board of Commissioners on a monthly basis, reconstruct the current LCEDC contract and <br />expand that Board by at least three individuals. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed a recent rezoning matter concerning Mr. Wayne Spivey and <br />Mr. Alex Autry. Commissioner Reives moved for the Board to review consideration of <br />this earlier rezoning matter which was denied by the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox gave the Board an update on a recent ad hoc committee <br />meeting he and Commissioner Groce were appointed to concerning an updated Animal <br />Control Ordinance for Lee County. He told the Board an amended Ordinance will be <br />presented to the Board at a future date using parts of the State Animal Control Ordinance. <br />Commissioner Groce gave the Board an update on a recent ad hoc committee <br />meeting he and Commissioner Cox were appointed to concerning Lee County Zoning and <br />Subdivision Regulation Amendments. He passed out to Board members recommendations <br />made to the committee. <br />The Board considered an administrative procedure brought by the Department of <br />Labor. County Manager William Cowan told the Board the North Carolina Department <br />of Labor OSH Division had recently done an inspection of various agencies in the County <br />and found several violations. They have fined the County $2,535.00 for these violations <br />and the Board needed to approve this penalty assessment payment. Commissioner Groce <br />moved to approve the penalty assessment of $2,535.00 to the North Carolina Department <br />of Labor OSH Division. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />15 <br />
