t` 0018
p; ` 16 ors= 438
calls coming into the center were related to 911 as opposed to day-to-day police activities.
This is a very difficult statistic to verify; however, based on a total number of calls for
service during 1995, it can be concluded that approximately 79 percent of those calls were
related to actual dispatching of City police officers. The balance of the calls (21 percent)
were related to fire and EMS calls. Using a ration of 21 percent, the County's
contribution towards the $367,990 cost of E911 for FY 1996-97 would be $77,277 which
is a reduction of $29,323 from the original requested $106,000. No action was taken on
the matter.
The Board discussed the Central Carolina Community College current expense
budget. No action was taken on the matter.
The Board discussed a part-time position in the Register of Deeds Office. No
action was taken on the matter.
The Board discussed the addition of a NCDX-Terminal to the Cooperative
Extension budget. Mr. Cowan told the Board this would require an appropriation of
$3,000. No action was taken on the matter.
The Board discussed the Board of Education expenses. Board of Education
Chairperson Jan Perkinson and School Superintendent Steve Wrenn were present and
requested additional money to (1) purchase additional modular units; (2) for special
projects and (3) current expenses. No action was taken on the matter.
There being no further business to come before the Board Commissioner Reives
moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote,
the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the meeting
adjourned.
Q6 a
~nQ}(• : t/
Chairman
"oiv~v.F.
