~oua 16 436 & 0016 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BUDGET WORK SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA JUNE 24, 1996 The work session of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of / North Carolina, convened at 1:00 p.m. in the Gordon A. Wicker Community Conference V/ Room at the Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. Commissioner Van Groce delivered the invocation. The Board considered a draft of the minutes from the regular June 10, 1996 work session. Commissioner Groce moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairman Garner requested that Representative Willis Brown be allowed to briefly address the Board. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board discussed the Economic Development Department. After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved for Economic Development Director Don Moss to report to the Board of Commissioners on a monthly basis; redraw and expand the existing contract on a one-year basis effective 7/1/96 and expand the Board members by at
